· Pony trekking and horse riding at Port of Menteith and Thornhill
· Good bicycling terrain – bikes can be hired nearby at Drymen and Gartmore
· Queen Elizabeth Forest Park, David Marshall Lodge Visitor Centre and Go Ape ‘zip wire heaven’
· Ancient Stirling Castle, Wallace monument, Bannockburn and shopping centre all nearby
· Country villages with pubs and restaurants in Kippen, Aberfoyle, Buchlyvie, Callander

Steam trains: Jacobite steam engine - Fort William to Mallaig on the west coast; B’oness and Kinnell in Central Scotland; Strathspey railway in the highlands
Harry Potter country – take the steam train along the route used by the Hogwarts Express, and cross the 21-arched Glenfinnan viaduct (a location made famous in the ‘Harry Potter’ films)
