What Our Guests Say

"We have had a WONDERFUL holiday and feel very privileged to have been the first people to stay in Coll Cottage. It has been more than we could have ever hoped for, and a real pleasure to come home to in the evenings! You have clearly thought hard about every little detail and it is a real credit to you.

With best wishes and good luck for the future." Dawn, Emma, Lucy and Hattie (West Yorkshire)

"We were originally looking for a cottage on Loch Lomond but came across Coll Cottage and liked the look of it. We have definitely not been disappointed. It is ideally situated for Glasgow and Edinburgh but also close to the mountains. Despite the weather being variable, we have always found something to do. New Lanark is well worth a visit if you like industrial history ie cotton mills. A lot of thought has been taken to entertaining the youngsters as well. We have spent most evenings sat in front of the fire with a wee dram ( I normally don't drink whisky but in Scotland it just feels right). We would like to echo the comments above and hope you enjoy great success with this little gem."

Ian and Sheila (Bolton-le-Sands, Lancashire)

"Thank you very much for your warm welcome. We enjoiyed our stay in your cosy cottage & are looking forward to visiting you once again....until then - take care and have a happy easter holiday".

Christiane, Verena, Inge and Michael (Germany)

"Thank you so much! Everything about both cottages has been perfect. Your friendly welcome IS part of the perfection. Our stay in Dykehead has been comfortable and after rambling from glens to bens, the comfort of such cottages made us feel fit for other outings in the Scottish countryside! We were not far from Callander and its local walks are worth doing. We hope to come back to Dykehead soon...."

Edouard, Jode, Daniel, Micheline, Danise, Alain, Roger, Dabis, Guy, Genevieve, Francois, Christian, Jacqueline (France and Belgium)

"Coll cottage was just what we needed - quiet, cosy, fully equipped and very beautiful. We live in England now but love nothing more than coming back to Scotland. Coll cottage has made this an extra special trip. The cottage is an absolute credit to you both. Thank you x."

Colin, Eileen, Ross and Stephen (Morpeth, Northumberland)

"I don't think it would have been possible to have a better time! The weather has been magnificent and we found this a perfect base for exploring Stirling, Edinburgh and the Highlands. But we also felt completely at home every time we came back to Coll Cottage. We're very impressed - thank you so much! Nothing was lacking. So we have mixed emotions - we want to tell all our friends, but we also want to keep it a secret so that we'll always be able to get back! Until the next time...."

Bob and Tina (Washington, DC, USA)

"Wish I lived here - perfect!"

Crawford (Bristol)

"Thank you for providing such a wonderful, clean, cosy and welcoming cottage. After our 25 hour flight it was a blessing to arrive at Coll Cottage. The fresh flowers and scones were such a lovely surprise. We all enjoyed ourselves immensely and loved coming back after a day of sightseeing. We will have wonderful memories of our first days in Scotland thanks to our perfect accommodation."

Sally, Chris, Daniel, and Jack (Queensland, Australia)
, George and Rebecca (Sydney, Australia)

"It was a real pleasure to stay here. Dykehead is a central point for a lot of visits (Edinburgh, St Andrews, Oban, Glasgow) and the mountains for walking. It was a wonderful time. We had only 2 days of rain on 2 weeks holidays. Scotland is very nice under the sun. Thank you very much for your warm welcome and your attention. Will come back surely."

Eric, Marie-Odile and Maud (Orleans, France), Andre, Monique and Patricia (Dijon, France)

"We had a very comfortable stay in Coll Cottage. The attention to detail is a credit to the owners. The cottage is a great base for hill walking and we would recommend the walk up Ben A'an which we managed with our 7 and 9 year old children. Overall 10 out of 10, so thanks for making our stay a success."

David, Joanne, Michael and Amy (Milton Keynes)

"We had a great time during our week's stay at Coll Cottage. A convenient location for our visits to Edinburgh, Glasgow and for walks into the Highlands. The children had a great time also. All in all we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves."

Lak, Pammi, Raj, Amar and Simran (Berkshire)

"We had the most lovely week. Thank you so much. The cottage is beautiful and the kitchen so well equipped! We loved the Falls in Callander, cycling around the lochs, of course the castles, particularly Doune Castle and Inchmahome Priory. Take the time to dine at the hotel at the Lake of Menteith."

Ute, Lucas, Mathilde and Michael (Worthing and Germany)

"We had both cottages while here for a church convention. Everything was fantastic!! And  the views of Scotland WOW!! We even went to see if we could see "Nessie" on one of the bus tours. And the castles. There is not time to write about it or words to describe. Outstanding time. The cottage was perfect!! Our daughter Kellijo and her family and friends were in the other cottage. Thank you. "

James, Mary, Lois, Mayme and Bruce (Virginia, USA)

"Our second Christmas here at the Cottages. The year inbetween has gone so quickly - as has this week. Thank you both again for your attention to detail, kindness to the children and for the warm and comfortable environment that you have created. A lovely week, lots of travelling to see Cameron cousins and uncles and aunts and only just a little bit too much eating and drinking. At the end of the days it was always like coming home returning to Coll Cottage. What more can one want from a holiday in lovely Scotland. Happy Christmas to you all and I hope that the new year is prosperous and joyful to all !!"

Fiona, Peter, Conor and Catrin (Monmouthshire, Wales)

"We were split between both cottages. Great start to 2009!! You have great accommodation - well kitted out, and the kitchen in Coll was well used for feeding our large clan!! Ideal for this kind of family break - great walks in surrounding area, some nice restaurants, and we were blessed with good weather. Hope we can return soon."

"First stay in Scotland, beautiful cottage, fantastic scenery, lovely location. The cottage was superbly equipped for our stay. Loved the idea of dvds, games, books and picnic equipment. Played golf at Stirling and Buchanan Castle, both good courses and recommended. Really enjoyed our stay and will recommend the cottage when we get back home."

David, Daniel, Sian and Helen (Aberdyfi, Wales)

"Lovely cottage, lovely area, loads to do. Thanks you for such a lovely "base". Especially glad of the sewing kit under the sink - Ben Lomond saw to a hole in a new pair of trousers - oops! Thanks."

Stephen, Ruth, Samuel, Jonny and Naomi (Necton, Norfolk)

"We had a wonderful stay at Coll Cottage. It was a central location for all our travelling. We visited family in Greenock and travelled north as far as Inverness. The cottage is equipped with everything you would need. We would recommend this cottage to family and friends travelling to Scotland"

Claire, Gary, Trevor and Denise (Hull, East Yorkshire)

"We have never stayed in a holiday cottage that was as well kitted out as this one - a true home from home for our lovely Christmas break. Thank you for the attention to detail and especially for the welcome presents and ginger bread man for baby Brandon. A perfect base for the local area and easy for the motorway for Edinburgh and travel home. Brilliant! Highly recommend the Lake of Menteith Hotel for Christmas dinner. The lake was beautiful when totally frozen over - magical! Thank you."

Bryonie, Michael, Gayle, Dominic and Brandon (Stirling, Scotland and Basingstoke, Hampshire)

"We had a wonderful time in Scotland! We visited Stirling, hiked up Ben Lomond (great view), got drunk in the Glengoyle Distillery and enjoyed the maritime feeling of Oban - but what made the week a magical experience was this cute cottage which made us always feel like coming home! See you again! "
